It's not a framework I've seen anywhere else before, but it feels like one that makes sense, and I'm looking forward to seeing what gets brought up as I read through the rest of it.
The author does mention those experiences in the introduction when he's talking about the many people he's interviewed, though neither one gets a chapter of its own. (The dead tree edition is apparently close to a thousand pages, so he probably had to cap the number of chapters somewhere.)
