Odds and Ends
Mar. 31st, 2020 11:02 pmWe had a lovely rainy weekend, but tomorrow threatens to be sunny again.
Visited Z this weekend to play D&D with him and his roommate - my hermit dwarf druid met his roommate's bloodthirsty fighter after getting off an airship in a town where people keep telling us we're going to die soon. Fun times! We had no combat that session, but combat is the most boring part of D&D anyway.
I watched the Bolshoi's 'Sleeping Beauty' when they livestreamed it, and I have to say, my initial reaction of 'I don't want to pay $20 to see that in a theater' turned out to be correct. Aside from a few moments of choreography that got my attention, I though it was fairly boring. I also didn't expect all of the fairy tale characters in the last act, and I found it jarring and confusing to figure out why the court figures were suddenly running around carrying tree cutouts for Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf and whatnot. (Also, the dancer who was playing Aurora looked visibly exhausted near the end of one section and seemed to be struggling with her pirouettes, which just made me worried if she was okay.)
Have been doing pretty well on exercising most days - I even went for another run today! - and stretching most days. Mae-Berenice Meite posted this short cute exercise video - maybe I'll try using it as a warm-up tomorrow, heh.
Today I successfully replaced the wobbly fan in my laptop (I was a little nervous but went slowly and took pictures and it turned out fine) and made yogurt, amazake, and sweet potato pierogi with ginger and garlic. For some reason, the pierogi recipe I used said it makes 60 and I cut it in half... and only got 18 pierogi out of it. Maybe I didn't roll it thin enough? I even measured the dough and it was as thin as the recipe said it should be, and I think I got it as thin as I could. Or maybe something about using whole-wheat flour instead of all-purpose (I only had WW and cake flour)? I just want to know where the other 12 pierogi went....
