Went out for another walk yesterday along a road I'd never been down before. Found my way down to the river. Saw a beaver!! It was only twenty feet or so away from me, gathering up some dried grass or reeds or something like that. I stayed very quiet and watched it for a minute before leaving in the opposite direction. (And took pictures, because what else are pocket computers good for? Might post some if they came out any good.)
Made this taro tapioca soup dessert, and it's very good. The mashed taro by itself tastes kind of like potatoes, but slightly... sweeter? More nutty? I have another taro and I might just mash it.
Found even more free manga on Kobo today. Their site is SO FUCKING HARD to navigate - it's worse in Japanese - but it turns out that you can find the free stuff by searching... 'free'. I got the first few volumes of Dance Dance Danseur (really enjoying the anime so far), another few for a ballet manga that I suspect is trying to capitalize on the Dance Dance Danseur anime (or maybe it's because it's a longer series, idk), another few for a Torikaebaya Monogatari manga adaptation, and the first volume of Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei, which I have had on my watch list for forever but have never gotten around to watching. I dig the teacher's Taisho-esque shirt-under-kimono look. Anyway, I definitely have enough reading material to practice with for a while!
Z's last concert was today, and everyone said extremely sweet things about him, as they should <3 I might've cried a bit when he did his solo.
