Count them well

Pretty much everything is (sensibly) shutting down over here. No more skating :( Just got our first case diagnosed earlier today.
Z didn't buy food ahead like I did, even after seeing the state of stores on Saturday. So I went with him grocery shopping on Monday to help carry bags and for emotional support. He said people were giving him looks in the store on Saturday, all of whom can fuck off with their racism. (Z isn't even east Asian, not that it would make it any better if he was.)
My friend S is in the Bay Area and riding out the shut-in orders at her partner's place. Sounds like she's doing okay. Skating friend R was suggesting earlier that maybe we could do some socially distant running and stretching together, but with a case being diagnosed near him and a vulnerable person in his home, he's now completely isolating. Maybe we can do stretching over Skype together at some point. My parents also sound like they're doing fine, just hunkering down - I am slightly worried because several people at her school have been diagnosed, but it's a big school and it sounds like she's been pretty on-the-ball with precautions.
Z said he understands if I don't want to risk seeing him, but I also know he gets lonely way faster than me, and tbh even as a pretty introverted person, the idea of staying at home without any human contact whatsoever for weeks due not to choice but because of a pandemic is freaking me out a bit.
I made banana bread and keep wondering if it would be irresponsible of me to take some over to share with Z and his roommate.
Installed folding@home and my GPU has almost finished its second COVID project. Nice to be able to do a tiny thing to help. Should also remember to send money to the food bank.
Must go for a run or at least a walk in the park tomorrow. Easy to avoid people there, and there's not usually very many at this time of year anyway.
After tearing some hair out, I managed to successfully code the measure I was working on. Now to keep on chipping away at other parts of the project. Also have to work on my proposal presentation - which is now required to be online, yaaay.
I took my first census yesterday! I was very excited! Only took a minute but it was a happy minute.
Jason Brown posted this and I think I am going to have to go rewatch that program for the hundreth time now <3
