Very lovely rainy weather today. I'm looking forward to taking a walk in it later. Might make it a visit Z to play video games.

For breakfast, I made crepes, and also had homemade yogurt with homemade tangerine curd I made in the microwave last night. (I used a lemon curd recipe and just swapped in tangerines since I have a billion. It came out a bit sweet, but deliciously citrusy.) And also had homemade amazake with a bit of black tea in it. While I was eating it, I felt half ready to start one of those weirdo homesteader recipe blogs. I don't think I'm making that much more than usual - I always make my own yogurt - but I sympathize with everyone stress-baking right now.

Had a talk with a committee member to discuss changes that need to be done to my proposed experiments. Gonna dive into a couple of books and the folder that's half papers on bees and half papers on mathematical models and termites.

I made a mask for going outside, using up some leftover quilting cotton. After adjusting it twice - thumbs down to all the online instructions - it now kind of fits. It still folds my ears down somewhat, and I am stumped on whether that's fixable considering I have to use ties because I have no elastic. I think my ears just might be too high? It also doesn't make a complete seal around my nose even with a wire inserted, and I don't know whether that's fixable, either. Not glasses friendly - good thing I wear contacts, I guess. I've been tying it on as tightly as possible and hope for the best. Not like I'm going out that much anyway.

At the grocery store this weekend, most people were wearing masks, although not always correctly (looking at you, the guy who pulled his down to his chin in the store and also at you, the guy in the N95 with the straps dangling). The guy behind me at the checkout seemed to have a different idea of 'six feet' than I do and it made me very anxious, although technically he was on the line of tape they had so I'm probably estimating the distance wrong; that aside, people generally seemed to be good at distancing in the store, which was nice to see. I think I washed my hands about five times when I got home and put things away.

It'll be nice to be able to buy food again one day without being so nervous about other people getting too close. And to go skating again. I was working on my spinner earlier today and I miss it.

Yes, I also feel some people have a different meaning of six foot. I'm looking forward to when I won't really mind if someone bumps into me rather than it being a SOCIAL and HEALTH disgrace.
